Early Orthodontic Treatment - What should we be aware of?

The importance of early orthodontic treatment in prevention-orientated dentistry lies in avoiding malformation of the dentition and interrupting progressive developments caused by genetic and/or dysfunctional deviations. Relevant early tooth and jaw malalignments, crossbite, anomaly of the progenia category, Angle Class II,1, open bite and primary overcrowding are presented with regard to risk assessment and explained in relation to their factors that require early elimination (pertaining to morphology and functioning).
